How do e-cigarettes work?

E-cigarettes are battery-powered and contain varying levels of liquid nicotine (The Electric Tobacconist® stocks e-cigarette products from zero nicotine up to 20mg/ml). As you inhale on the e-cigarette (often at the same time as pressing an activation button), the e-liquid solution is drawn into an atomizing chamber, where it is heated and turned into a vapour. The vapour is inhaled in the same way smoke would be inhaled with a traditional cigarette.
