My Joyetech ATOPACK Penguin is overheating/spitting hot liquid

A Joyetech ATOPACK Penguin sub-ohm kit

Think you may have a faulty Joyetech Atopack Penguin Device?

The Joyetech Atopack Penguin is a sub-ohm device that comes with two different types of coil for two different vaping methods; mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung. It's important to know what coil you have installed so you know how it should be vaped; if you have installed the direct-to-lung 0.25ohm coil and you're vaping it like you would a cigarette, this will cause it to overheat and/or spit unwanted liquid.

We recommend you read our article about the difference between 'mouth-to-lung' vaping and 'direct-to-lung' vaping. Neither technique is superior to the other, but some kits will not react well to the build up of vapor that results from 'mouth-to-lung' vaping, so it is important to know which style of vaping is best for your kit.

We have also found a YouTube video that hopefully demonstrates the difference.

Luckily with the Penguin you can try both coils to see what works best for you. The 0.6ohm coil is intended for mouth-to-lung while the 0.25ohm coil is for direct-to-lung.

We hope this helps resolve your issue.
